LigPOMMem GmbH is dedicated to the commercial development of sustainable, bio-based processes, with a particular focus on the valorization of industrial lignin streams from the pulp and paper industry. Our goal is to unlock the full value potential of lignin by converting it into high-value platform chemicals and sustainable materials.
The Albert Research Group at the Institute of Technical and Macromolecular Chemistry at the University of Hamburg conducts research on the replacement of fossil-based bulk chemicals with bio-based chemical building blocks, working closely with both industrial and academic partners.
Through the collaboration between LigPOMMem GmbH and the Albert Research Group, innovative and sustainable processes for the conversion of lignin into valuable chemicals are being developed. Together, we aim to accelerate the transition from fossil-based feedstocks to renewable raw materials, contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally responsible chemical industry.

Our technology is built upon extensive scientific research and continuous collaboration with leading academic institutions. Together with our research partners, we investigate innovative pathways for lignin valorization and the development of sustainable chemical processes.
The publications present selected scientific contributions that form the foundation of LigPOMMem's technology and highlight ongoing advances in renewable chemistry and biobased platform chemicals.
